  • After lunch: Hike East Ridge Trail overlooking Armstrong Woods or take the afternoon off with some shopping in Guerneville.

Monday: Biking excursion through the scenic Dry Creek Valley

Tuesday: Dramatic Coastline – The Sonoma coastline boasts a dramatic landscape, with bluffs descending hundreds of feet to the Pacific Ocean. These bluffs offer stunning walking trails, such as the trail from Bodega Headland north to the UC Davis Bodega Marine Bio Lab or along the Kortum Trail between Shell Beach and Goat Rock.

  • Lunch included: a picnic lunch featuring a Dungeness crab sandwich and New England clam chowder
  • There will also be ample time for hiking around Bodega Head and Goat Rock
  • As part of the experience, a group tour of the UC Davis Bodega Marine Bio Lab is included

Hike

  • Morning: Hike for about two hours in the Sugar Loaf State Park in the Mayacamas Mountains. Between the morning hike and Jack London State Park
  • Have lunch on own and shop in the town of Sonoma or Glen Ellen
  • Afternoon: Jack London State Park— A docent led Jack London Historic State Park is included. While Jack London is widely recognized as the author of classics like *Call of the Wild* and *White Fang*, he was also a multifaceted individual as an explorer, visionary, romantic, socialist, and an innovative farmer. The park offers two fascinating tours that could greatly enrich the bike tour experience. The first is the “Beauty Ranch” tour, which explores Jack London’s 1,400-acre ranch, a “Futuristic Farm” ahead of its time. This tour also includes a private visit to the cottage and museum. The second option is a tour of the Wolf House ruins, Jack London’s gravesite, and the museum.
