Acadia National Park, Maine

Hiking, Biking, Kayaking Adventure

September 1-6, 2023

Acadia encompasses about 47,748 acres of unique beauty and rich wildlife. The Park offers something to interest everyone, from glorious views at the top of Cadillac Mountain to Thunder Hole on Ocean Drive. Enjoy the exquisite scenery along the 27-mile Park Loop Road, or the rustic stone bridges on 45 miles of beautiful carriage roads.

  • Mount Desert Island (MDI) – the largest island off the coast of Maine and the second largest on the eastern seaboard of the U.S. Widely known as the home of Acadia National Park and the town of Bar Harbor.
  • Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, at 1,530 feet (466 meters), is the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard. It is one of over 20 mountains on Mount Desert Island (MDI), Maine that were pushed up by earth’s tectonic and volcanic forces millions of years ago. Were it not for the once enormous glaciers that sheared off their tops, they would be even higher than what we see today.
  • Hiking Trails in Acadia National Park are often interconnected and range in difficulty from easy to strenuous. There are over 120 miles of trails to select from.
  • Carriage Roads & Bridges – The Carriage Roads and stone bridges in Acadia National Park were financed and directed by philanthropist John D. Rockefeller, Jr., between 1913 and 1940, for hikers, bikers, horseback riders and carriages. The network includes 57 miles of woodland roads free of motor vehicles, of which 45 miles are within Acadia National Park.
